Body Awareness

The term body awareness refers to the ability to feel connected to our own bodies. Learning the names of body parts is an important developmental milestone for young children and is necessary for getting to know their own bodies and effectively communicating sensations in the body, including pain. Play is a great way to help children during their early years become more aware of their bodies, learn the names of body parts and understand how their bodies feel. In this section, you will find useful techniques for helping children develop body awareness through role play.
